Like good literature, Ana Fabry’s paintings exist on several levels. At first glance they are charming pictures one might hang in one’s home. When one peeks behind their shroud, however, one discovers biting satire and mad dreams.
Her pieces at times appear as the daytime remnants of a recurring dream which shows the obsessive endurance of that world, marked by stereotypes, that inevitably resides in the remotest experience of almost every human being.

The goats symbolize the way that nations are changing their conditions, appearance and identity, or at least pretending to, just in order to join the “bandwagon”, but on close examination it is not all it seems to be.
