On September 23rd 2014, Ms. Tao Qin, Vice General Secretary of China Artists Association communicated with Mr. Aart Jacobi, Ambassador of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on its participation of the 6th Beijing International Art Biennale.
Both sides reviewed Holland’s participation in previous sessions of Beijing Biennale. Mr. Aart Jacobi spoke highly of the achievements Beijing Biennale has made over these years and shared with Ms. Tao about the pictures which he kept in his mobile phone when he visited exhibitions in China. After that, Ms. Tao elaborated on the characteristics of Beijing Biennale and how foreign artists can apply for the exhibition.
Holland boasts of cultural and artistic resources and long-standing tradition of art which is well-known all over the world. Holland is home to Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, Frans Hals, Jan Vermeer, Vincent Willem van Gogh, Piet Cornelies Mondrian and many other masters of art. Contemporary painting and sculpture in Holland still keep the traditional elegance. In recent years, contemporary artists from Holland frequently take part in international art activities. Beijing Biennale Office sincerely invites Holland’s artists to participate in the 6th Beijing Biennale and showcase the glamour of Holland’s contemporary art to the world.
Mr. Aart Jacobi hopes that he can facilitate the cooperation between China and Holland and more great artists will take part in the 6th Beijing International Art Biennale.
