On October 29th, 2014, Director of Culture and Academic of the Embassy of Israel Zvika ziv met with vice General Secretary Tao Qin of the China Artists Association to discuss the Israel’s participation of the 6th Beijing Biennale.
Israel almost took part in every session of the Beijing Biennale with multiple art works since 2003 when it was held for the first time. Israel provided substantial support to artists by offering round-trip air tickets to facilitate them to come to Beijing to visit the exhibition. Mr. Zvika ziv is proficient in Chinese and attaches great importance to the exhibition. He is familiar with artists who participated in past 5 Beijing Biennales. During the meeting, Director Zvika ziv raised a lot of detailed questions concerning international transportation, styles of the works and the theme of works after his comprehensive and careful research of previous Beijing Biennales.
He expressed that the Embassy will as always offer great support and recommend more artists to take part in the coming Beijing Biennale. The 6th Beijing Biennale will serve as a platform for art exchange and dialogue between Israel and the international community and for a prominent display of artists’ creative philosophy.
