There are athletes who train very hard to compete in the Olympics, win a medal, pursue the Olympic motto of Faster, Higher and Stronger and strive for the excellence of human lives. Winners of course deserve reputation and applause, as they challenge themselves to break records time after time. However, athletes who cannot bring home medals should also be recognized, as they also try their best, never give up in any competition and deal with defeats head on.

Given the scale of this world leading sports competition, a successful Olympic Games is underpinned by tens of thousands of people, who work hard to contribute to its preparation and operation, including fund raising, construction of venues and supporting facilities, arrangement of schedules, security safeguarding and accommodation of athletes and officials. Therefore, except for shining stars in sports competitions, a large number of unsung heroes deserve attention and respect as well. Among them are Coubertin and other pioneers of the modern Olympic Games, all IOC presidents and members of various National Olympic Committees. There are also many volunteers and citizens who carry forward Olympic spirits through their selflessness, smiling faces and faith and responsibilities.

Unsung heroes who dedicate themselves to the Olympic cause are also worthy of praise. The rescue team from the China National Alpine Skiing Center is rehearsing for the 2022 Winter Olympics.
